Trip to Cameron Highland

We went to Cameron Highland from 26 - 28 of June. Believe it or not, this trip was my first time ever in my whole life...pity me right?

We drove up using the Simpang Pulai exit and drove down using the Tapah route. We lodged at Cameronian Inn; a very peaceful place and so affordable. We enjoyed every moments we had up there with lots of activities; strawberry plucking, scone hunting, plant parks visiting, vegetable shopping, pasar malam's food hunting, town exploring...etc...etc...

Cameron Valley Tea House

Our first stop of the day....and our first scone testing...of course

Strawberry cupcake...a good choice by Syahmi Ameen

Kok Lim(if i'm not mistakenla..) Strawberry Park

Our first strawberry park stop of the day...but not much fruits there....

Not much fruit because not in season yet...

Cactus Valley

....a 'must go' park...

Hydroponic butterhead lettuce

lemons...

Parsley....below the strawberry pots...they utilised every space they had properly..

The tomatoes....soo tempting..

Hydroponic iceberg lettuce...they had the romaine lettuce too...

Parsley in pots..

Cameronian Inn

7 am outside the room (without taking bath...hahaha ).....taking the fresh air, pleasing the calmness and the peacefulness of the surrounding while waiting for their famous scones were being bake...

EQ Strawberry Park

The next fruit plucking stop...the fruits much more better and quite a lot...so we have lots of choices to pluck for...

The strawberries...aaaaahhh...so tempting

Papaaaa...mmmmm

Papaa...mmm...mama..you make my mouth watering...can I have some pleaseee..

Here you are...

Mmmm...papaaaa.....mmmmmm

Uncle Sam Park

Actually, there were lots more places we'd visit and nice views along the way especially during the town exploring but no pics because of our inconvenient situations (with sleeping baby...etc..etc..). Once again, no picture at the vegetables market.

What was so interesting about their pasar malam was the deep fried food. They had crispy deep fried vegetables; broccoli, oyster mushroom, shitake, watercress, kincam, etc and the crispy deep fried seafood too;cuttlefish, prawn (big and small), whole crab, etc...sorry , no picture too because we had them in the car...hahaha...
We were advised to come on September- October for the strawberry season...no wonder there's not much strawberries in the park.

During the second day evening, we stopped at Cactus Valley again. This time to buy herb seeds and potted herb before went down the next morning. Unfortunately, we were stranded by heavy rain there. So, we went to their cafe for the strawberry desserts..we had 2 bowls of strawberry with whipped cream and a glass of strawberry sundae..really nice because the strawberries were fresh..picture will be upload later, we were using the handphone camera...left the camera in the car because we planned to stop few minutes only, not knowing that we had to stay longer, about 2 hours, there...

We left the highland around 8 am on the third day because we want to reach home as soon as possible so that we could get enough rest. We were too tired hunting, exploring and shopping...

Scone Hunting

3 recommended places (from the net) had been chosen to hunt for..
1. Bharat Tea Cafe

The set...RM 12 ...(being heated in microwave)

The texture... inside look very fluffy and slightly soft,... when u bite it, the outside is slightly crispy and the inside is slightly soft

2. Cameronian Inn, Tanah Rata

The set...RM12 with a pot of tea for two ...(freshly baked)

The texture...inside look so soft,... when u bite it, the outside very crispy and the inside so soft until u can feel it sticking on your teeth while chewing it ...

3. T Cafe, Tanah Rata (above Marrybrown)

I don't have the pic because it was raining during that evening plus the kids were sleeping and baby slept on my lap. Ordered for taking away...scone, apple pie and strawberry cheesecake (these were their home specialty)...had them in the car. The scone was too dry...like biscuit. The apple pie, i think mine is way much better(this what my husband and Syahmi Ameen said and I agree with them)... The strawberry cheesecake...nothing special...just moderate

After about 5 hours leaving the highland, I already missed their scone....so, I looked for the recipe on net. I still had my fresh blueberry in the fridge, so I just dumped them in. I obtained 8 pieces from the recipe. We had them for our tea time downstair...outside in the slight raining evening....the weather almost like on highland....almost la...

My scone...only this I could capture because too excited to taste them..but it was not as good as those on highland...have to modified them...

O ooohhh..mama finished the updating lo...

It's time to sleep now...time to tidy up my 'bed' before lying down comfortably and peacefully....

ZZZZZZZZZZ.......

Sabah Trip...lapukkksss update

The event had taken place on 15-17 of May. 3 families were departed from KLIA by MAS at 8 am and 1 family was departed from JB by Air Asia at 5 am. We lodged at Marina Court Resort Condominium, Kota Kinabalu. Enjoy the pics taken there..

First Day

Arrived at KK international Airport...waiting for pakcik and makcik to pick us up for lodging

It was raining on that very afternoon, so we cannot proceed with the tentative...therefore, we decided to go 'jalan-jalan' around KK when one of the member suggested to check out the 1 Borneo Shopping Centre. The building located in the same block with Tune Hotel. Seems that the mall located on the way to Sri Gayang Seafood Restaurant, we hurriedly drove there for our dinner treat. From there, we followed the signboard to Tuaran and KKIP, we followed the route until we found the restaurant's signboard.

We were the 2nd customer at that hour....waiting for the foods

The veggies; Fried Sabah vege and Fried Ferntop....this the only food pics taken...the rest...forgot...all I could remember just 'let's diggin' '. Besides the vege, we ordered Buttered Baby Lobster, Onion Scallop, 2 Nyonya style Steamed Siakap, Sweet Sour Siakap, Black Pepper Crab, Crispy-coated Fried cuttlefish. All the foods were delicious and cheap too. A recommended place to eat there.

The lake view from the restaurant

2nd Day

We used the longer route to Poring Hot Spring....besides hot spring there were waterfall and hanging bridge too, but few more kilometres to walk....and we used the standard route to go back to KK...

On the way to Poring Hot Spring, Mount Kinabalu...

We are here...

After freshin' up foots, time to freshin' up mouth muscle.....

Enough swimming, let's get dress..

Thirst quenching...I'm sweating a lot in the pool...hahahaha

The next destination, Ranau; fruits and vegetables stall...don't have the pics too...forgot because too excited looking at the varieties of fresh veggies...and next....Kinabalu park (both places were located on the way back to KK), didn't have the pics too because the mist was so thick at that hour...but...

On the way....

During the raining night, all the ladies except me (my baby) went out, hunting for crystals and pearls...and they got a very good bargain in that weather...

3rd Day

Free at leisure....we decided to venture the town ourselves...without taking bath...hahahaha...we started the journey as early as 7 am...

Our condo...

The town...separated by a roundabout (on the right in the pic)with the condo...

Can u guess what's this?....I thought it was cheese at the first place...

It's grated tapioca...a 'ruji' food of one of the migrated tribe from Philippine.

At the Fish Market...

I could see lots of kids pushing this cart there...

At one of the 'Pasar'...beli beg ke kak?

On the way to Pasar Gaya..

In front of Pasar Gaya entrance...Pesta Kaamatan launching preparations..

What's inside....

Pasar Gaya entrance

What's inside...

Beli kuih ke kak?...

They sell animals tooo.....puppies...anyone?

Yasin and Tahlil

Last Wednesday, my mum held a simple Yasin reciting followed by Tahlil with her close friend. About 30 people attended. I had prepare 3 sweet dishes; Apple Custard Pie, Apple Crumble Pie and Steamed Chocolate Cake as souvenir. The rest of the food were prepared by my mum and some of it were ordered from outside. Alhamdulilah, I got lots of compliment from them for both pies...I guess that was a very good sign for a new start.....

Gardening

I was trying to grow cherry tomato and lady's finger. Actually it was my mum's idea because she had extra seeds. I just put them in pots, outside, just few cm from the kitchen door (so that easy for me to pick the fruits)and after several weeks of patient.. may I present to you........taraaaaaaa...

My Organic Cherry Tomato and Lady's Finger

Mat'am Saba'

This event was taken about two weeks ago with my big family, however, not all of them participated. We arrived there at around 8 pm and the seats was not full yet, after finished the meal at around 9 pm, the crowd of customers become bigger and bigger, waiting for the empty seats. Alhamdulilah we had a good plan; departed at 7pm from Ayong's house and performed solat Maghrib on the way.....

Waiting for the foods

Rice with chicken (forgot the real name printed on the menu book)...and lots more foods which I forgot their name too (too excited and too hungry to remember) and forgot to take the pics too...what I could remember was, all the foods were great....

Full kids hunger for exercises...

Empty plates...and...bigger crowd back there....waiting for empty seats

Sweating mama and baby....its really hot here..

Beads

I was so busy lately, with the growing up kids, and my other job, tasks, activities, etc....(I even don't have time to update fp or preparing meal; sometimes.......actually, lots of time...)

One of it is my beading project. Actually, I decided to temporarily stop beading until my baby reach 1+ years old (infact, I had return back few baju kurung to the owner after soooo long delay).

However, the demand is still continuing....and I don't have other choices, I have to accept it, besides, I really love beading (and not forgetting, the most......cooking). I guess that's why I can't totally stop even though time always not on my side. But I have to put few conditions to the customer....

This among the settled project. The owner will come this evening, hope she'll like it. She was my classmate at MRSM Balik Pulau back then.

More projects coming up....soon
